1. Information We Collect
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you:
- Client Data: Name, email, phone number, payment information, and practice details required for account creation and billing.
- Patient Data (Processed Data): Call transcripts, audio recordings, phone numbers, and appointment details generated during AI interactions.

2. HIPAA & Business Associate Agreement (BAA)
Dentara acts as a Business Associate for our dental practice clients (Covered Entities). We execute formal Business Associate Agreements (BAAs) with eligible Enterprise clients to govern the transmission, storage, and processing of Protected Health Information (PHI).
3. Data Security & Encryption
The security of your data is critical. We use enterprise-grade security measures:
- All data is encrypted in transit using TLS 1.2 or higher.
- All database records and audio recordings are encrypted at rest using AES-256 encryption.
- Access to production databases is strictly restricted by Row Level Security (RLS) policies.
While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect personal data, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

Dentara uses the collected data for the following purposes:
- To provide, maintain, and monitor the usage of our Service.

- To provide customer support and generate call analytics for your dashboard.
Zero Data Selling Policy: Dentara will never sell, rent, or trade your data or your patients' data to third-party data brokers or marketing agencies under any circumstances.
5. Third-Party Service Providers
We may employ third-party companies (such as payment processors, cloud hosting providers, and AI inference engines) to facilitate our Service. These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform specific tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
6. Your Rights
If you are a resident of California (CCPA) or the European Economic Area (GDPR), you have certain data protection rights, including the right to access, update, or delete the information we have on you. Please contact us to exercise these rights.
